Overview

An interactive RGB color theory learning kit developed for CosmoCaixa Barcelona’s summer workshops. The project combined color theory concepts with basic electronics, providing a hands-on learning experience that helped participants understand how red, green, and blue light combine to create different colors.

My role in the project

I designed and developed the educational kit, integrating digital fabrication techniques with electronic components to create a functional and engaging learning tool for workshop facilitators and participants.

The Challenge

The challenge was to translate abstract color theory concepts into an accessible, interactive experience while introducing the fundamentals of electronic systems. The kit needed to be intuitive to use, suitable for educational workshops, and robust enough to support hands-on experimentation.

The Solution

I developed the kit combining laser-cut and 3D-printed components with basic electronic circuits. Potentiometers allowed users to adjust RGB values and explore color combinations, while components such as resistors, an LCD, prototyping boards, a battery pack, and a switch introduced the fundamentals of electronics.

The result was an educational tool that connected scientific concepts with practical experimentation, encouraging participants to learn through interaction, exploration, and making.
